In Loving Memory of Dr. William Howard Dailey
December 12, 1943 – April 22, 2025
Dr. William Howard Dailey, age 81, of Hilham, Tennessee, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior at his home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, surrounded by his devoted and loving family.
Born on December 12, 1943, in Livingston, William was the beloved son of the late Willie Newton Dailey and Ermine Clayborn. A man of deep faith and unwavering devotion, he dedicated his life to serving God and others with compassion, humility, and joy.
Dr. Dailey was a man of many callings. He was the proud owner of several health food stores throughout Tennessee, but his true passion and life's work was sharing the Gospel. Saved at the young age of 14, he began his journey in ministry as a deacon before answering the call to preach in 1976. He was ordained in 1977 and went on to earn his Doctorate of Divinity from Logos University in Jacksonville, Florida.
In 1983, Dr. Dailey founded Swallows Chapel Full Gospel Church in Rickman, Tennessee, where he faithfully served as senior pastor from 1984 to 2006. He led countless crusades and revivals, touching lives with his powerful preaching, kind heart, and steadfast belief in the healing power of faith.
A lifelong learner and healer, he also trained under Dr. Roy Maddox, MD, in herbal medicine and reflexology. He practiced as an herbalist and reflexologist from 1984 to 2023, serving the body and soul through what became known as The Healing Hands Ministry. He offered counseling, natural healing, and co-authored a heartfelt book about his life and ministry titled A Gentle Tug.
Above all his accomplishments, Dr. Dailey was most proud of his family and his walk with the Lord. He cherished 64 beautiful years of marriage to the love of his life, his "blue-eyed foxy lady", and together they built a legacy of faith, love, and service. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a doting grandfather and great-grandfather, and a true spiritual father to many.
Dr. Dailey was a man who never met a stranger. His warmth, generosity, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a gentle soul, a true man of God, and a beacon of hope and encouragement to all who knew him. Dr. Dailey's influence extended far beyond his community. His life was a living testimony of God's grace, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to walk alongside him.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family and the countless lives he touched—but we rejoice in knowing he is now home, resting in the eternal peace of his Savior.
