Willard Ben Maxfield, better known as Benny, age 74, went to meet the Lord on
November 19, 2025 in Nashville, TN. He was born at home on November 1, 1951 in
Allons, TN.
Benny was a God-fearing man who lived with steadfast faith, quiet strength, and deep
love for those around him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend,
he placed his family at the center of everything he did.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn Tays Maxfield, who stood by his
side through every season of life. He leaves behind two sons, David Maxfield and wife,Kim, and Marty Maxfield and wife, Jamie; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Dylan, Ben,Brogan, Titus, Abram, and Annestin Maxfield; one brother, Milton Maxfield and wife,Elaine, of Allons; two sisters, Betty Jo Hancock of Monroe and Francis Louise Hargis of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Pearl Maxfield and siblings: Zelma
Denney, Irene Mabrey, Maggie Hahn, Callie Renner, John Epp Maxfield, Mary Lovely,
Nancy Chapman, Frank Maxfield, Ruth Phipps, Ruby Anderson, Cullom Maxfield, Grady
Maxfield, Faye Maxfield, Jerry Maxfield, and Phoebe Maxfield.
For 38 years, he drove a truck for IWC with dedication and pride, providing for his home
and forming lifelong friendships along the road. In his free time, he found joy in simple
pleasures like fishing, hunting, playing games, watching classic westerns, going to his
grandchildren's ball games, and especially reading his Bible, which guided his steps
daily.
A faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Church of Willow Grove for many years, he was known for his warm
presence and unwavering devotion. He loved to play music, sharing melodies that
reflected his spirit and his love for the Lord.
Though deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in peace, reunited with those who went before him and welcomed into the
eternal home he long looked toward with hope.
Pallbearers will be; Matt Maxfield, Dylan Maxfield, Ben Maxfield, Brogan Maxfield,
Charlie Maxfield, and Ray Tays; and Honorary Pallbearer - John Maxfield
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life at Hall Funeral Home in Livingston,
TN. Officiating will be Bro. Rick Lewis and Bro. James Bilbrey.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 22nd starting at 4 PM for the family followed by a
Masonic funeral at 5 PM. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6PM until
9PM.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 1 PM. The family will
receive friends from 9 AM until time of service at 1 PM.
Burial will take place in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Allons, TN.
