Obituary

Virginia Ann Webb Moody, 75, of , Rickman, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on January 10, 2025. Born on September 2, 1949, in Overton County Tennessee, Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life was marked by a deep love for family, faith, and the simple joys of life.


Virginia worked for many years as a factory worker, also with handicapped children, and later in housekeeping at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Her commitment to hard work and caring for others was evident in all she did. She was a devoted Christian, and her love for God was central to her life.


Virginia had a passion for sewing, quilting, reading and studying her Bible, and traveling, particularly enjoying trips to the beach and spending time with her family on vacations. She was a strong, kind, and loving woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.


She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Harris and Amy Sells (Allen); granddaughter, Brittney May (Dannie); two great-grandchildren, Tylee and Madalynn May; as well as numerous other family members and friends.


Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Robert Glen Moody; her parents, Agnes Webb Hooks and Isaac Brance Webb; her stepfather, Willie Hooks; and her son-in-law, David Harris.

Serving at Pallbearers will be Dannie May, Allen Sells, Blaiden Dailey, Gary Webb, Jeff Moody, Gary Moody, Barry Moody, Billy Moody, with honorary pallbearers being David Bilbrey, Joe Boles, Donald Moody, Joe Moody.


A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 starting at 4 PM until 8 PM then on Wednesday, January 15th starting at 11 AM , with the funeral service to follow on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1 PM.


The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the support and condolences they have received during this difficult time. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to her caretakers Teresa Stowe and Caitlyn Bilbrey, and also Quality Home Health and Caris Hospice who were all invaluable during her long battle with Congestive Heart Failure and COPD. Virginia's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish her legacy of love, faith, and devotion.
