Obituary

Mrs. Shirlie Jean Maynord Daniels, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed from this life on the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by her family and our lives will never be the same. She lived a life full of love, selflessness, and devotion to her family.

Born on December 5, 1946, Shirlie Jean grew up with a deep appreciation for her family and for the simple joys of life. Her greatest happiness came from spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who lovingly refer to her as Gran Gran. Her family was the center of her world, and she enjoyed cooking meals for them, attending their school and sports events, and just simply sitting and talking with those she loved. She knew the meaning of quality time and that was of utmost importance to her. She had a remarkable ability to make every moment special, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and love.

A hardworking, compassionate, and determined lady, she approached all she did with grace and dedication. She always put the needs of others before her own and it was her kind and generous spirit that left a mark on everyone she met. Shirlie Jean had a passion for cooking for her family and was always using her meals to serve others. She took pride in helping others and making their lives easier and better. She could often be found outside, tending to her flowers with the same care and attention she gave to everyone in her life. She found joy working in her flowers, as it was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Like the flowers she grew, she nurtured those she loved, always making sure they felt cared for, valued, and appreciated. Her flowers brought joy to all those who saw them.

Shirlie Jean's faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devout Christian, and her love for the Lord was evident in everything she did. She lived with a deep sense of purpose and trust in God's plan, sharing her faith and love with others through her actions. Though we know she is in her Eternal home, this world will not be the same without her and a void will forever be in our hearts.

Shirlie Jean is survived by her children: Teresa and Butch Sells, Rick and McKensie Stover, and Travis and Allie Stover; her stepson, Jonathan Daniels; and her grandchildren: Cody Sells, Whitney and Brandon Matthews, Tyler and Valerie Sells, Brayden and Emma Stover, and Finley and Norah Jane Stover. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Baylin, Brody, and Elijah Sells, Ezra Davidson, Eden, Eley, and Emry Matthews, Kaiden Thomas, Ava Johnson, and Hadley Tate Sells. She is further survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Keith Vaughn, Sheena Garrett Hummel, her brother and sister-in-law, Micheal and Debbie Maynord, and special family members Sheila Brown and Paulette Wilson. Additionally, she is cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Charlie Daniels, her first husband and the father of her children: Richard Stover, her parents: Wilburn and Bernice Maynord and her stepdaughter: Sabrina Daniels.

In her passing, Shirlie Jean leaves behind a lasting impact of love, kindness, and devotion. Her life touched the hearts of so many, and while she will be profoundly missed, her love and influence will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
