PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. Ronnie Glenn Smith was born in New Hope, Jackson Co., TN to the late Louis K. and Gertrude (Lawson) Smith. Ronnie started life in the new hope community of Jackson county. born on the family farm, he learned about hard work an early age. helping with the usual chores and challenges of the times helped him grow into a hard worker, wonderful husband, and caring Father. He was a Jack of all trades as they say. Working in construction, truck driving, mechanicing, and in the factories for a living, in his own time he was a farmer, Husband, father, fisherman, hunter and wood worker . He enjoyed being outside, regardless if he was working in the fields working, or at the shed just hanging out. you could count on him to be whomever he needed to be for that day, he would switch gears and be that person. He could fix anything that was broken, or be the person that was needed for any problem that arose. there's no telling how many things he had fixed in his life, numbering into the thousands if not more.
He was also a teacher. He tought his sons everything they needed to know. how to fix thier vehicles or how to construct anything imaginable. nothing was impossible to Ronnie. with a strong will and determination he guided his family through good times and in bad. through every situation he had the answers, if he didn't, he knew how to find them or figure it out together. His family and friends would always seek him out for advice no matter the issue.
In the latter part of his life he enjoyed the farm and going fishing.Of course his grand children and great grandchildren were very high on the list, along with his sons and his wife. Ronnie wanted nothing more than to be at home enjoying what he had worked so hard to achieve.
