Phillip Andrew
(Andy) Melton
Sep 1, 1982 — Mar 30, 2026
Phillip Andrew "Andy" Melton, 43, of Rickman, Tennessee, gained his wings on March 30, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on September 1, 1982, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Andy was the beloved son of Terri Melton of Rickman, Tennessee, and Perry Melton of Allons, Tennessee. He grew up in Rickman and graduated from Cookeville High School.
Andy loved Jesus more than anything else. He shared his faith with everyone who entered his home, often speaking about the Cross and how Jesus died for all. He rarely missed church unless he was sick and was always the first to invite others to attend with him. Andy loved his family and friends and always loved being home.
Andy had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could light up any room. He was determined and never gave up on what he set out to do. He never let his struggles prevent him from enjoying life or being the center of attention. Andy loved his Bible, trains, guitars, puzzles, and cookbooks. He especially enjoyed backyard cookouts with family and friends, where he made lasting memories—and, as many will fondly remember, enjoyed "bossing everyone around" just because he could. He was always told he had the strongest figure in the world; he would point for you to do what he wanted, and he always got that with a smile on his face.
Andy is survived by his loving mother, Terri Melton of Rickman, Tennessee; his father, Perry Melton of Allons, Tennessee; grandmother, Mildred Turner of Rickman, Tennessee; uncle, Nick (Leila) Turner of Livingston, Tennessee; aunts, Betty (Carl) Flatt of Bloomington Springs, Tennessee, Connie (Tracy) Bohannon of Englewood Tennessee, and Margaret Stewart of Bloomington Springs, Tennessee; and his uncle, Chester "Paul" Melton of Hilham, Tennessee, and his aunt he chose Sheri Roberson of Cookeville, Tennessee—a lot of cousins and people that he chooses to be his family, if he chose for you to be in his circle you had it made.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Doak Turner of Rickman, Tennessee; his grandparents, Chester and Lanta Jo Melton of Independence, Tennessee; and his uncles and aunts, Jimbo Melton, Lonnie Joe Melton, Johnny Ray Melton, Jane Hummel, and Carol Langford.
Pallbearers: Eric Turner, Nathan Turner, Michael Melton, Anthony Flatt, Braiden Turner, and Logan Turner.
Honorary Pallbearers: Paul Melton, Jaxon Turner, Eddie Roberts
