Ms. Mary Sue Gillentine of Cookeville, Tennessee, age 81, passed away at Signature Healthcare in Algood, Tennessee Friday, June 6, 2025.  Mary was born on Friday, May 26, 1944 to the late Luther and Bessie Murphy in Livingston, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Murphy.

Mary is survived by her children, Michael (Sharon) Gillentine of Cookeville, Tennessee and Jeff Gillentine of Crossville, Tennessee.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Paul Stouder, Michael Gillentine, Matthew Gillentine, Emily Gillentine, Bobby Gillentine, and Savannah Cooper; she also has 8 great-grandchildren who survive.  Mary's siblings also survive which include Linda Lee of Cookeville, Tennessee, James Murphy of Livingston,Tennessee, Ruby Murphy of Cookeville, Tennessee, and Louise Robins of Livingston, Tennessee.

Mary was retired from working as a secretary at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee.  She really loved being retired and being able to stay home.  During her retirement, Mary loved working with her flowers, especially roses.  She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, especially "The Price Is Right,"  Mary loved her family and spending time with each of them.

Mary's family will receive friends Monday, June 9, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hall Funeral Home, 2106 Cookeville Highway, Livingston, Tennessee.  Funeral Services for Ms. Mary Sue Gillentine will be conducted on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Stouder officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the Okolona Cemetery in Livingston, Tennessee.
