Obituary

Marilyn Patricia Griffiths, age 73, of Hilham, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at her residence.  Marilyn was born in Jackson, MI Wednesday, October 18, 1950 to the late George and Phyllis Ellis.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her Brother: Douglas Ellis, and by her Sister: Joy Gunter.

Marilyn is survived by her Husband: John Griffiths of 35 years.  She is also survived by her Daughters: Christina Hewitt (George) of Brandon, MS, and Margaret Martin of Hilham, TN.  Marilyn's four grandchildren survive; they include: Amber MacNeil of Stafford, VA, Chelsey Hewitt of Brandon, MS, Tabitha Owen of Brandon, MS, and Caleb Hewitt (Kiersten) of Winter Haven, FL.  Two Great Grandchildren: Jack Hewitt and Elijah Owen both of Brandon, MS also survive.  Marilyn's Sisters: Leanna Verdon Pitts (Jimmy) of Pierson, FL, and Barbara Jean Stohl (David) of Pittsford, MI survive as well.

Marilyn was the matriarch of the family.  She was the glue that held the family together.  She was so strong, brilliant, and brave.  If she loved you, you knew it.  She never gave up on anyone.  Good, bad, or ugly, she had the most forgiving heart; but she would not put up with your nonsense either.  She taught us how to be strong and love people regardless of where they came from or things they had done.  From checking you out of school on bad days just to eat chocolate and to watch movies to kicking your butt when you got out of line.  She was a firecracker all the way to the end.  Not a day will go by that she won't be missed.  May the Lord grant her peace and angel wings.

Family has chosen cremation with a private celebration of life to be held at a later date.
