John William Prator Jr age 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his residence.

John was born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA on September 7, 1950. He was chosen and Predeceased by his parents, John William Prator, Sr and Margie Burnett (Sauls) Prator, and his son Erik Scott Prator. John leaves his wife, Diane Marie (Tervo) Prator, son Kevin Shawn Prator, daughter Kelsey Suzanne Prator, and granddaughter Michelle Dawn Prator, as well as his brother Keith Prator (wife Jammie), and nieces and nephews.

John graduated from Tucker High School, then Georgia Tech. He served as a pilot in the United States Air Force and went on to retire as a Captain for American Airlines. He was a Grey Eagle and Quiet Birdman.

John "flew west" from home, with his family by his side.

A memorial service for Mr. John W. Prator Jr will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
