DECEASED: Mrs. Sarah Sally Murphy age 81 of Cookeville, Overton Co., TN went home to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, February 16, 2020 at the Standing Stone Health and Rehabilitation in Monterey, Putnam Co., TN with her family by her side.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Sarah Sally Murphy was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on April 21, 1938 to the late Ernest and Agnes (Mullins) Smith. Sarah was a housewife and was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Her family loved Sarah very much and in return she loved them back. She will be greatly missed.

SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Johnny "John" Michael Murphy and wife Vonette; 2 Daughters: Jenny Murphy, Leesa Hays Rockwell and husband Jack; 1 Sister: Helen Norrod; 5 Grandchildren: Brice Murphy and wife Mary, Lucas Murphy and wife Jennifer, Jamie Phipps, Jesse Phipps, Charity Stuart and her husband Jeb; 3 Great Grandchildren: Haley Murphy, Jonah Murphy, Josiah Murphy; 1 Sister: Helen Norrod. A host of family and friends also survive.

PRECEEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents; Husband: John D. Murphy of the Hardy's Chapel Community; 5 Brothers: Charlie (C.L.) Smith of Livingston, TN, Clifford (Click) Smith of Allons, TN, James E. Smith of Monroe, TN, Turley P. Smith of Monroe, TN, Howard Smith of Monroe, TN; 1 Sister: Magalene Smith Choate, of Monroe, TN.

SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Sally Murphy will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 10 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the West Cemetery located in the Bangham Community. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening February 17 ^th starting at 5 PM to 8 PM. Officiating he service will be Bro. John Murphy.
