Mr. Richard "Rick" Crabtree age 59 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at his residence in Livingston, TN.

Mr. Richard "Rick" Crabtree was born on July 12, 1958 at the Lady Ann Hospital in Livingston, TN to Billy and Evelyn (Phillips) Crabtree. Rick was a member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church in Livingston and was employed at Cooper Recycling in Livingston at the time of his death.

Both his church family and his work family have been such a source of comfort to him during his illness with prayers, calls, visits, favorite food, and encouraging words.

Rick never met a stranger, and if someone needed help he was one of the first to volunteer. Rarely did you see him without a smile. His phone calls usually started with "what are you doing" and ended with "I love you". He loved his family, especially his grandson, Mason. He was also an animal over, especially dogs. If he saw a dog beside the road that looked hungry he would stop and share the food he had, or he would go buy something to feed it. Lucy and Mabel were his faithful 4-legged companions; they provided him with comfort when he was first diagnosed with cancer in 2013. When Mabel (one of his labs) needed insulin, he stopped smoking because the medicine was expensive and he couldn't afford both her medicine and cigarettes.

He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

SURVIVORS include his mother, Evelyn Crabtree, a brother Randall, Step-Son, Robert Hinds and wife Sherryl, a grandson, Mason and granddaughter, Aliviah, special aunt, Sue, special friend, June, brother-in-law, Kevin Burchett and niece and nephew, Katie and Michael.

In addition to his father, Billy Crabtree, Rick was PRECEDED IN DEATH by his brother, Ronnie Crabtree, and sister, Glenda Burchett.

PALLBEARER include: Jimmy Geesling, Steve Cooper, Tommy Feaster, Robert Hinds, Gary Walker and Billy Hinds and HONORARY PALLBEARERS include Cooper Recycling Drivers.

Funeral Services for Mr. Richard "Rick" Crabtree will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 1 PM from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston with Brother Derrick Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at the Thompson Flatt Cemetery in the Dry Hollow Community. Family will receive friends Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 5 until 9 PM at the funeral home.
