Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11 AM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Burial will follow in the Eckel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 1-9 PM. Bro. William H. Sowder Sr. and Bro. Robert Boles will officiate.

Mr. James Roscoe Burroughs age 81 of Cookeville, TN passed away at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Sunday October 14, 2012.

He was born in Overton County, TN on January 16, 1931 to the late Lawrence and Josie (Brady) Burroughs. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by: Wife: Edna Merle (Allen) Burroughs; 1 Daughter: Kelly Mitchell and husband Randell; 4 Step-Sons: Charles West and wife Annette, James West and wife Karen, Tim West and wife Linda, and David West and wife Lorrie; 1 Brother: Walter Burroughs; 2 Sisters-in-Law: Christine Burroughs and Wanda Burroughs; 3 Grandchildren: Rob, Stewart, and Amy Jo Mitchell; 11 Step-Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; 1 Uncle: Carlos Burroughs; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by: In addition to his parents; 2 Sisters: Lilian Byrd and Anna Huddleston; 2 Brothers: Lilburn Burroughs and Willie Burroughs; and one Granddaughter: Rachael West.
