DECEASED: Mr. Charles Herman Moody age 86 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN passed from this life on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from the Cookeville Regional Hospital.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. Charles Herman Moody was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on October 08, 1935 to the late Clarence Moody and late May Williams Moody. Herman had a life of service. He was the Sheriff of Overton County for 12 years (1982-1994). He had a huge heart for his county and his community. Prior to that, he worked at Tennessee Tech for several years before becoming Sheriff. His greatest love was spending time with his family and working on projects. In his retirement years, he has enjoyed rehabbing houses, working on the farm bush hogging and mowing as well as sitting on his front porch waving at people passing by. He was always eager to lend a helping hand if anyone needed him. He was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He has placed a special memory in a lot of people's hearts, whether from the Sheriff Dept days or personal life with family and friends. This is a huge loss for our Hardy's Chapel Community as well as our family. He will be greatly missed

SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Patty Cole of Livingston, TN; 1 Granddaughter: Tosha Cole Clemens of Livingston, TN and her husband Joseph Clemens; 2 Brothers: Joe Moody and his wife Agnes Moody of Livingston, TN and Don Moody and his wife Barbara Moody of Livingston, TN; Sister-in-law: Virginia Moody of Livingston, TN; Brother-in-law: Dawson Netherton of Cookeville, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends also survive.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents; Wife: Betty Moody. Brothers: Doyle Moody, Earl Moody, Earnest Moody and Glenn Moody. Sisters: Geraldine Davidson and Edith Netherton.

PALLBEARERS: Don Moody, Joe Moody, Barry Moody, Billy Moody, Gary Moody, Jeff Moody, David Netherton; Honorary Pallbearers: Alan Sells, Joe Clemens, and Donnie Hite.

SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mr. Charles Herman Moody will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 2 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, August 26 starting at 5 PM until 8 PM then on Saturday evening starting at 4 PM until 8 PM. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 12 PM until 2 PM when the service begins service will be officiated by Bro. Douglas Hawkins. In lieu of flowers, donate to Poplar Springs Cemetery in Herman's memory.
