DECEASED: Mr. John Dennis "J.D." Beck age 77 of Cookeville, Rickman Community of Overton Co., TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 7, 2017 at approximately 9:48 AM.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. John Dennis "J.D." Beck was born in Lexington, Kentucky on April 2, 1940 to the late John Clifford and Nora Anna Simonson Beck. J.D. Worked for the United States Post Office, where he held the post master position in Nashville, TN before moving to and eventually retiring from that position in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Most recently, J.D. worked for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he performed various maintenance activities and enjoyed serving his church community. He enjoyed wood working and built many children's toy boxes. In his more youthful years, J.D. ran in many marathons including the Boston Marathon. He married Shirley M. Rakuza Cole in 2009. They were very much in love; he always called Shirley "My Bride". He loved talking and meeting people and was a great jokester and could always make people laugh. He loved helping others. He will be greatly missed by his loved one and everyone that knew him.

SURVIVORS: Wife: Shirley Beck; 2 Sons: John Dennis Beck, Jr., Christopher Beck; 1 Step-Son: Allen Cole; 1 Sister: Jolene Davis and her husband Bill; 5 Grandchildren: Kristen, Heather, Jordan, Nathan, Kailee; 1 Great Grandchild: Ryder Lee.Also survived by Nieces and Nephews.

SERVICES/BURIAL: A Rosary Service will be held for Mr. John Dennis "J.D." Beck on Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017 at 6:30 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 starting at 2 PM until 8 PM. A memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Father Chad will officiate.
