Dr. Edmond Pierce Ryan passed away in his home on April 11th after an extended illness, surrounded by loving family.

Edmond was born Oct. 14th 1935 to Avle Frank Ryan and Lilly Deborah Holbert Ryan in Jacksonville Florida.

Dr. Ryan was a gradute of The University of Florida, The University of Tennessee and the University of New Mexico Albuquerque where he received his doctorate.  Edmond was a Vietnam War Veteran, where he served as a Captain. Returning to teach at The Citadel Military College in South Carolina. Relocating to Tennessee Tech where he taught Engineering for 38 years.

Dr. Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Alice Harr and her husband Royce Harr, his nephew Samuel Harr, a beloved aunt Areala and Earl, sister-in-law Linda Brewer, brother-in-law Randy Brewer, and niece Ashley Brewer.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lynda, his step-son Samuel Nelson, beloved step grandson Charles Tucker Nelson, brother-in-law Paris Brewer, brother-in-law Roy Brewer and his wife Robyn, sister-in-law Vickie Brown, nephew Frank Harr, niece Shelia Ryan, and a number of additional nieces and nephews.

Edmond loved his teaching and was always available to his students of his Vietnam War experience he related that is where he received his practical experience of building bridges and roads and then getting to blow them up, testing his designs. Always modest, he always gave the credit of success to his men. He was a devoted loving husband, step-father, and step grandfather. He was always positive, even when ill. He could say more with a facial expression than most people could with words. he dearly loved his wife, family and friends.

Funeral Services for Dr. Edmond Ryan will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Noon from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Turkeytown Cemetery in Hilham, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, April 14th starting at 5 PM until 9 PM then on Saturday at 9 AM until service time at 12 PM with Bro.  Tim Singleton officiating the service.
