DECEASED: Mr. Douglas "Bill" Ward age 94 of Cookeville, TN passed away on Monday morning, February 22, 2016 at the Signature Health Care in Algood, TN.
PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. Douglas "Bill" Ward was born in Hilham, Overton Co., TN on April 5, 1921 to the late Charlie and Avda (Carmack) Ward.He served in WWII and received the good conduct medal, distinguished unit badge, European African Middle Eastern service medal, Lapel Button, with 1 Bronze star.
SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Glen Ward and his wife Karen; 1 Daughter: Brenda Borema and her husband James; 1 Brother: Carl Masters; 2 Sisters in-law: Emma Smith and Jimmie Masters; 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
PRECEEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents; Wife: Mabel Ward.
SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mr. Douglas "Bill" Ward will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 1 PM from the Netherland Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Netherland Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Netherland Church of Christ on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 starting at 12 Noon until service time at 1 PM. Officiating will be Bro. Mark Loftis.
