DECEASED: Mr. Matthew David Hargis age 46 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN passed from this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. Matthew David Hargis was born Friday, May 23, 1975 in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN to Clara (Qualls) Hargis Smith and David Hargis. Matt was a brick mason and was very proud of all the buildings and homes that he helped build over the years. He was baptized in First Christian Church. He loved working on trucks, fixing things, he loved the rivers and the woods and he sure did love his family. He loved life and fought hard to live through a year and a half of illness of endo cordites and heart surgeries. The family would like to thank Erlanger Hospital and Cookeville Hospital for their kindness and care.

SURVIVORS: Parents: Mother and Step Father Clara and Ronnie Smith and Father David Hargis; Children: Mikala Hargis Gray, Jayce Gray, Taylor Strong, Lily Hargis, Caleb Hargis, Quaid Hargis; Grandchildren: Millie Gray and Hudson Womack; Brothers: Brian Smith and wife Katie, Adam Smith and wife Eysha; Sister: Kristi Hargis King; Special Friend: Tonya Cote; A host of family and friends also survive.

PRECEEDED IN DEATH: By his Grandparents: Herbert and Elizabeth H. Qualls and Rheubin Clinton and Juanita Bowman Hargis.

SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mr. Matthew David Hargis will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 2 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Overton Co. Memorial Gardens in Livingston, Overton Co., TN. Family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 26 ^th starting at 10:30 AM The family request that in Matt's memory and honor to donate to your charity of choice.
