DECEASED: Mr. Charles S. Stanton, Jr. age 93 of Livingston, TN passed away at his home on Thursday evening, March 5, 2015 with his family at his side.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. Charles S. Stanton, Jr. was born in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN on June 29, 1921 to the late Charles S. Stanton, Sr. and Stella Huddleston Stanton. On December 29, 1941, Charles left Tennessee Polytechnic Institution to Volunteer in the U.S. Navy. He commissioned the ship, "The U.S.S. Waldren" where he served with distinction as a radioman, 2nd class operating morse code transmissions. He served with distinction in the Atlantic, South Atlantic, Caribbean, Pacific Ocean and South China Sea war zones where he received five (5)bronze stars and numerous decorations for meritorious service. Mr. Stanton retired in 1989 from an active banking career where he was admired and respected by his peers for his dedication, loyalty and dependability. He served with distinction for seventeen years as a corporate officer and manager with valuable service to Cookeville Federal Savings & Loan Association and Livingston Security Federal Savings & Loan Association. Mr. Stanton was recognized for his service to his community as a respected businessman and active supporter of civic and community activities. Mr. Stanton was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Livingston. He was also an avid golfer, competing and winning many tournaments throughout the state.

SURVIVORS: Wife: Dorothy Stanton of Livingston, TN 2 Sons: Sandy Stanton and wife Beverly of Cookeville, TN Jack Carr and wife Sheila of Mount Juliet, TN 2 Daughters: Patricia Stanton-McDonald and Husband Tim of Livingston, TN Sally Stanton Tucker and Husband Kevin of Cookeville, TN.
5 Grandchildren: Hunter McDonald of Livingston, TN Robert Stanton and wife Whitney of Winston Salem, N.C., Christy cheek and Husband Tim of Birmingham, AL, Beth Shipley and Jess Shipley both of Cookeville, TN. Great Grandchildren. His Special caregiver and nurse Lisa Collins.

PRECEEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his Parents; 2 Brothers: Carson Stanton of Nashville, TN and Doss Stanton of Franklin, TN.

PALLBEARERS: Jack Carr, Jim Deck, Hunter McDonald, Tim McDonald, Robert Stanton, Sandy Stanton. Honorary: Gerald Maynard, Bill Speck.

SERVICES/BURIAL: Memorial services will be held for Mr. Charles S. Stanton, Jr. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 @ 7pm from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Graveside services on Monday morning, March 9, 2015 @ 10 am from the Cookeville City Cemetery in Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN Family will receive friends @ the funeral home Sunday, March 8, 2015 starting at 4pm until service time. Officiating will be Rev. Craig Green.
