Barbra Ann Deck age 76 of Nashville, TN passed from this life on December 13, 2020 from the Residence/Alive Hospice facility. Barbra, a native of Timothy, TN attended Neely's Cross Roads School and Celina High School. Following graduation in 1962, she worked at the Livingston Shirt Factory and later moved to Nashville where she received her B.S. degree from Tennessee State University. She worked for the Federal government-Rural Development for twenty plus years. Barbra enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed nature, bird watching, hiking, and visiting with her neighbors. She loved butterflies, wildflowers, and trees. She wrote letters to Metro Council every time there was legislation to increase or preserve the tree canopy. In 2020, she made sure that two trees from the Fall's Roots tree planting campaign were planted in her backyard even while she was in the hospital. She was an advocate for protecting the environment.

Barbra is survived by Son, John C. Wheeler (Catherine); Grandson, Willem Wheeler; Granddaughters, Iona Wheeler and Freya Wheeler; Siblings, Virginia E. Deck, Wilma (Dave) McDonald, Billy (Marivic) Deck, and Bobby L. Deck; four nephews, three great-nephews, one great-niece; sister-in-law, Judy Deck and brother-in-law Bob Creswell. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil T. Deck and Vernon Hall Deck; siblings, Lois Marie Creswell, Mary Louise Dimateo, and Leo B. Deck; brother –in-law, Glenn E. Dimateo.

A graveside memorial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Garrett's Cemetery located on the Livingston Boat Dock Rd. in Allons, TN 38541.
