Rickman – Funeral services for Alene Lee Roberson, 79, of Rickman, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home with the viewing on Friday, July 7th from 5 to 8 PM. Saturday, July 8th starting at 10 AM. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberson went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Alene Roberson was born March 13th, 1938 in the Rocky Point community of Putnam County, TN to the late James Will Lee and Sallie Bohannon Lee. She was a loving wife to Bennie Roberson for 51 years.
Alene was retired from the retail industry and enjoyed many years as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. For the last 26 years she has resided in Overton County, TN.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law and four sons and daughters-in-law, Pam (Danny) Dunson of Sparta, Sallie (Bob) Greene of Riverview, FL, Shirley (Johnny) Raley of Spring Hill, FL, Ed (Jane) Roberson of Wake Forest, NC, Bennie Wayne (Renee) Roberson of Clayton, NC, James (Carrie) Roberson of Rickman and Tom Roberson of Ruskin, FL; one brother, Johnnie Alfred (Zenobia) Lee of Rickman; three sisters-in-law, Louise Brown of Cookeville, Pansy Bohannon of Vandalia, OH and Geneva Lee of Cookeville. As she was known as Nana, she was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Melony Poorman, Erica Phillips, Shannon Hayes, Stephen Hood, Joe Fisher, Jason Roberson, Sarah Brady, Andrew Greene, Heather Muentes, Austin Raley, Alex Raley, and James Roberson, Jr. She was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren, Amanda Poorman, Colin Poorman, Jada Martin, Mila Hayes, Tate Hayes, Hunter Strickland, Callie Fisher, Trinity Brady, Caleigh Brady, Jacob Greene, Brandon Greene and Arabella Raley; great-great grandchildren, Adelyn Reed and Levi Reed; her care taker and special friends Chasity and Jon Williamson and her warm and loving cat companion, Buddy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Roberson; sisters, Illa Juanita McCloud, Evelyn Holloway, Edna Lee, and baby girl Lee; one brother, Doc Lee and great grandson, Jacob Greene.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and family. The Rev. Bennie Wayne Roberson and Jeremy Haney will officiate the service.
