Karla Laine (Moon) Stephens of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on February 23, 2026 after a courageous battle with melanoma. She was born on March 7, 1979, to Philip Landon Moon and Bonnie Lou Graham Moon (Fisher). Karla was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Bonnie; grandparents Evert Landon Moon and Roxie B. Hulse Moon and Holland O. Graham and Pauline F. York Graham; stepfather Fred Fisher; aunts Sandy Graham, Frances Rine, and Delsie Lease; and uncles Howard Graham and Clarence Graham.

Karla is survived by her significant other Ed Gibson, her children: Heather Ritter Brown (Zach) of Celina, Tennessee; Courtney Ritter (Gavin Whitaker) of Westmoreland, Tennessee; and Austin Ritter of Celina, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister Cynthia L. (Moon) Brenchley (Michael) of Lewisville, Texas; brother Bobby Moon of Burkesville, Kentucky; nephew William Tyler Sewell (Kendra) of Burkesville, Kentucky; niece Ashley Sewell (Jonathyn Garcia) of Lewisville, Texas; stepmother Brenda Moon of Burkesville, Kentucky; stepbrother Kevin Evans of Burkesville, Kentucky; and stepsister Misti Evans of Burkesville, Kentucky; grandchildren Layla and Elijah; uncle Danny Graham and aunt Peggy Reynolds and a host of cousins and friends.

Karla will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy is carried forward by those whose lives she touched.

Family will welcome friends for visitation in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home starting Tuesday, March 3, 2026 starting at 4pm until 9pm.

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 2pm, with vistation starting at 10am until time of service at 2pm.
