Juanita Cobble
Fletcher
Jan 30, 1947 — Aug 25, 2024
Juanita Cobble Fletcher, 77, of Cookeville, TN, passed away at her home on August 25, 2024, after a very sudden decline in her health.
Juanita was born in Rickman, TN, on January 30, 1947, to JB and Maggie Cobble.
Juanita worked for many years as a cook at the "Old Cookeville Manor." She eventually retired and spent time caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. In recent years, she enjoyed crocheting and watching Gunsmoke, especially with her caretaker and granddaughter, Kelsey, who became her Gunsmoke-watching partner as they explored new crafts and talked about all the characters in the show. Juanita gave an evening report each day of the daily Gunsmoke episodes and all the shenanigans that had taken place that day. She spent much time with "her special friend and caretaker," Gina going yard selling, visiting friends, getting her favorite tomatoes at the farmers market, eating new foods, and "bossing" supervising us planting and growing her favorite plants, flowers, tomatoes, and green onions. She made some of the best memories with her baby sister, Jenny, sitting on the porch bossing each other. Her absolute favorite was Sunday mornings, as she looked forward to Danny and Shelia Winningham picking her up every Sunday to attend church at Whitson Chapel Church of Christ.
Juanita met the love of her life, Johnny Fletcher, in 1966 while working at the "Grill" on the Square in Livingston. After locking eyes, they instantly fell in love and were married. They had three children during their marriage: Kelly, Mike, and Jason. Juanita's sons were her entire world; she loved being a mother and being with her sons more than anything. Her children gave her strength during hard times and lots of laughter at others. Despite facing loss and heartbreak, Juanita remained strong-willed, had a great sense of humor, and showed bravery. She fought so hard to create memories with her loved ones.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Brandi Fletcher of Cookeville, TN, who will miss her dearly. She leaves behind ten grandchildren: Dylan Fletcher, Brooke Fletcher, Mark Fletcher, Addyson Fletcher, Heather Moore, and husband Heath, Chase Fletcher and wife Taylor, Cody Fletcher and fiancé Chloe, Marisa Price, Elijah Hill, and Kelsey Hill. Ten great-grandchildren: Jackson (Jax), Rylan, Grace, Walker, Lakelynnn, Isaac, Jack, Hudson, Chloe, and Everleigh.
Sisters Jenny- husband Donnie Breeding of Rickman, TN; Judy (Joe) Hotsinpillar of Sparta, TN; Jack Cobble of Algood, TN; and sister-in-law Sue Cobble of Cookeville, TN., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, JB and Maggie Cobble, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Johnny Fletcher; her sons, Richard Kelly Fletcher and Michael Kelvin Fletcher; brother and sister, John (Linda) Cobble, Gene (Faye) Cobble, Janie (Oral) Dixon, all of Rickman, TN; Mary (Clifton) Fletcher and Clyde (Sandra), both of Algood, TN; and Bud Cobble of Cookeville, Tn.
Jason and Brandi would like to thank Gina Glass and Kelsey Hill for the compassionate care they provided Juanita over the last months and Danny and Shelia for her Sunday Church trips. They'd also like to thank the family and friends for their support, prayers, and visits with her these last months before her passing, which made her feel very loved.
Our hearts are broken, and to say we will miss her is an understatement, but we are so thankful for every day we have had with her, the love she gave us, and the memories we made that will forever be in our hearts.
