Joyce Carolyn Garrett, known by everyone who knew and loved her as Carolyn, 74 years of age, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee.  Carolyn was born to the late Elbert and Lucille Pennington on Thursday, January 25, 1951, in Livingston, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her infant sister: Anna Lois Pennington, her son-in-law: John Ringley, her uncle: Delbert Pennington, her aunt: Millie Pennington, and several other aunts and uncles.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters: Donna Polley of Livingston, and Deanna Gunnels (T. J.) of Livingston; her adopted, special daughter: Cyndi Payne of Sparta, Tennessee; her grandchildren: Ashley Ringley of Livingston, Robbert Gillentine (Meriam) of Monroe, Tennessee, and Kristian Michaelson of Marion, Indiana; 6 great grandchildren: Abbie and Addy Allen, Peyton, Clayton, Laniey, and Mallie Gillentine.

Carolyn was a strong willed, strong hearted person who loved everyone, especially her grand babies.  She will be fovever missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Joyce Carolyn Garrett are as follows:

Visitation: Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hall Funeral Home, Livingston, TN and again on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hall Funeral Home, Livingston, TN.

Funeral Service: Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home, Livingston, TN with Pastor Mike Owens Officiating.  Serving as Pallbearers will be Robbert Gillentine, T. J. Gunnels, Jeff Polley, Sean Murphy, Jerry Pigg, and Sam Meadows.

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in the Smyrna Cemetery in Byrdstown, Pickett Co., Tennessee. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the family by contacting the funeral home.                                                                                  P
