John D. Boots Woody left this Earth on November 8, 2025 in Cookeville, TN. He was born on April 8, 1950 in Simon West Virginia.

John D., better known as "Woody", spent his life full of family and friends, lots of cornhole, fishing and of course gardening. He was an active member in his local church, House of Faith, as Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.

He was devoted to those he loved as they were to him. His friends and family will miss his daily calls and many questions.

He is survived by his faithful bride of 53 years, Sandra Faye Woody; his children, Angel Faye McCloud (Randy), John Jr. Woody(Elsa), and Charles Woody(Jessica); grandchidren, Jesse Woody, McKenzie Davis (Chris), Samuel McCloud (Desiree), Haley Woody, Jaxon Woody, Aaliyah Woody, Charlie Woody, Sebastian Boutelle, Vinny Pilibosian, and Lane McCraw; great grandchildren, Remy and Luke Davis; and sister: Mabel (Kenneth) Tayes. And several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, McKinley Boots and Lola Woody, his siblings; Jimmy Woody, Joann Woody, Glenna Faye and nephew Lucas Woody.

Pallbearers will be; Randy McCloud, Samuel McCloud, Jesse Woody, Jaxon Woody, Chris Davis, and Charlie Toler.

Family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life at Hall Funeral Home in Livingston, TN. Officiating will be Mike Owens. Visitation will be Thursday, November 13th starting at 5PM for family, and receiving friends from 6pm until 9pm. Funeral services will be held on November 14th at 1PM, receiving friends from 11am until time of service at 1PM. Burial will take place at West Cemetery following the service.

He was one to attend any funeral he could to fellowship and remember. We encourage you to do the same on his behalf.
