DECEASED:  Mr. John D. Alcorn age 84 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN passed from this life on Tuesday morning, March 26, 2024 at his residence.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mr. John D. Alcorn was born in Buffalo Valley, Putnam Co., TN on Thursday, June 29, 1939 to the late Herman P. and Lois (Julian) Alcorn. John was a bigger than life man, a big man with a big heart. He wore many hats in his life, and he wore them all well. John was an Army Veteran that proudly served his country. A college graduate with a B.S. degree in business management and an M.A. in Educational Psychology. He was a probate officer, judicial magistrate, and a farmer. John was a mason, Al Menah Shriner and a proud member of the Livingston American Legion. John loved people and doing things especially to help kids. He attended church at the Okolona Methodist Church in Livingston, TN. John's hobbies: weightlifting, which he won several competitions back in the day. Refereeing ball games, hunting and most of all traveling with Betty. He also enjoyed trips to Stover's Country Kitchen. Of all the hats he wore, his cowboy hat was his favorite. He loved being outside on his farm. As he started having health issues sitting on his porch with his coffee watching the cows, especially the new calves run and play was his newfound hobby. John has touched many lives and he leaves behind numerous friends some of which he considered like family. He's truly going to be missed by many.

SURVIVORS: Wife: Betty Alcorn; 1 Daughter: Rosemarie Moore; Nephew: David Thomas Alcorn; 1 Great Niece: Catherine Louise Alcorn; 1 Cousin: James Wesley Smith.

PRECEEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents; 1 Grandson: Jason William Rice; 1 Brother: Tommy Ray Alcorn.

PALLBEARERS:

SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mr. John D. Alcorn will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:30 PM from the Hall Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 29th starting at 11 AM until funeral time at 2:30PM. Officiating with the service will be Bro. Matthew Finchum.                          P
