Obituary

Joe Deloy Garrett age 77 of Livingston, Overton County TN passed away Thursday morning April 11, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. Joe was a loving husband, son, father and Poppy.

Joe Garrett a Veteran of the United States Navy with an honorable discharge to the National Guard where he was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations Insignia, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Navy Unity Commendation Ribbon where his civilian operation was in Excavating. Joe was the former Overton County Road Superintendent for 12 years, a farmer, construction and excavation and a logger. Joe was a hardworking family man who strived to always help others.


Joe Deloy Garrett was born on July 26, 1946 to the late Alvin and Elsie (Ledbetter) Garrett  of Livingston TN. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Vickie Sue Garrett (Spear), his daughter Misty Garrett and wife Samantha of Livingston, son Garon Garrett and Kim Floyd of Campbellsville KY, sisters Rema Garrett of Cookeville, Gale Banks and husband Dennis of Manchester TN, brothers Jerry Garrett and wife Colene of Livingston, James Garrett of Livingston, Danny Garrett and wife Brenda of Livingston. Grandchildren, Melea Garrett, Ashdon Akin, Hunter Page and Kanton Deloy Garrett, Larkin, Laken and Kellen Floyd, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends that he loved all as his own.


In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son Kelly Jack Daniels, brothers Donald Garrett, Johnny Garrett, sisters Brenda Lewis and Betty Huffer.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Garrett will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 2 PM from the Hall Funeral Home in Livingston, TN with burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 13th starting at 4 PM until 8 PM. Officiating with the services will be Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. Jordan Danner.                                P
