Mr. Jimmie Wayne Smith age 56 of Celina passed away Friday night January 13, 2006 at the Cumberland River Hospital. Mr. Smith was born on October 14, 1949 to the late Herman (Fred) Smith and Mae (McLerran) Smith in Elwood IN. He was married on March 27, 1970 to Linda Faye (Anderson) Smith. A member the New Hope Church of Christ, Mr. Smith served as an elder. A certified Master Logger in Tennessee and Kentucky, he was a member of Tri County Forestry Association, where he served on the board. He was also a member of the Moss Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 years, where he first served as fire chief, before serving the last 17 years as assistant chief. Survivors include wife Linda Faye (Anderson) Smith of Celina, TN. 2 Daughters and Sons-in-law: Sonya and Mike Briggs of Cookeville, TN, and Stephanie and Jeremy Stack of Cookeville, TN. Mother: Mae (McLerran) Smith of Celina, TN. 2 Sisters: Judy Smith and Jo Ann Terry both of Celina, TN 1 Brother: Donald Ray Smith of Red Boiling Springs, TN. 2 Grandchildren: Ty Michael Briggs and Bo Butler Briggs of Cookeville, TN. Other Survivors include a host of relatives, friends, and Church members.
