Mr. James "Matt" Matthew Sherrill, 60, of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee, Friday, July 25, 2025.

"Matt" was born Thursday, September 3, 1964 in Noblesville, Indiana to the late James Albert Sherrill and the late Dixie Sue Smith Sherrill.

In addition to his parents, "Matt" was preceded in death by a very special aunt, Wanda Smith.

"Matt" is survived by his son, Thor (Anasticia) Cox of Anderson, Indiana, his daughter: Kassidy Brown of Middletown, Indiana, and his son, Keegan Brown of Middletown, Indiana.  He is survived by three grandchildren, Lilly Cox, Teddy Cox, and Matthew Brown.  "Matt" is also survived by his sister, Lisa Sherrill of Spiceland, Indiana in addition to several loved cousins, aunts, and uncles.

"Matt" is also survived by the mothers of his children, Misti Cox, the mother of Thor, and Christy Brown, the mother of Kassidy Brown, and Keegan Brown.  "Matt" is also survived a best friend, Steve Phillips of Middletown, Indiana.

He loved the mountains, and was someone who loved being outside.  More than anything, "Matt" loved spending time with his family and friends.

The family has chosen to honor "Matt's" final wishes to be cremated.  No funeral services are planned at this time.
