James Lynn
Baggerly
Oct 31, 1946 — Mar 20, 2026
James "Jim" Lynn Baggerly, age 79, of Rickman, Tennessee, passed away on March 20, 2026.
Jim was born on October 31, 1946, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Dorian J. and Mabel (Sever) Baggerly. He was a graduate of Pennfield High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army.
On October 16, 1971, he was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" (Davis) Baggerly, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 54 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and love.
Jim was an accomplished chef whose passion for cooking was well known by all who knew him. He found joy in the kitchen, often using his family as willing taste-testers for new recipes. His skill and creativity were matched only by the love he poured into every meal. Cooking became something he shared deeply with Pat and his children, leaving behind not just recipes, but lasting memories and traditions his family will always carry with them.
A man of strong faith, Jim served for many years as an Elder at Netherland Church of Christ. He took great pride in caring for and guiding his church family, a role that meant a great deal to him.
Above all else, Jim was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He cherished his family, especially his wife, children, and granddaughter, Isabelle Mae, who brought him immense pride and joy. His presence, love, and steady guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Baggerly of Rickman, Tennessee; his daughter, Christina Baggerly of Cookeville, Tennessee; his son, David (Kayla) Baggerly of Hilham, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Isabelle Mae of Hilham, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorian and Mabel Baggerly of Battle Creek, Michigan; his brothers, Bruce Milnes of Battle Creek, Michigan and Forrest Milnes of Climax, Michigan; and his sister, Jayne Cook of Battle Creek, Michigan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Livingston, Tennessee. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Bro. Mark Loftis, with interment to follow at Netherland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Baggerly, Bruce Milnes, Jeff Milnes, David Ling, Mark McCowan, and Joshua Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders at Netherland Church of Christ.
