Funeral services for Mr. Inzer Lavone Finch, 90, of Celina, Tennessee, will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Bro. Barry Blakely and Dr. Matthew King will officiate.
His family will receive friends Friday from 2-8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Finch went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 18, 1933, in Madison County Alabama, to the late Stannie and Annie Aldridge Finch.
Mr. Finch, affectionately called 'Ponch' was a member of and preached at the Camp Road Church of Christ in Cookeville. He loved talking to others and never missed an opportunity to tell others about the Lord. After retiring from Ford Glass Plant in Nashville, he enjoyed many other professions including owning a lawn mower shop, school bus driver, substitute teacher, school janitor, and Walmart employee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Marlin Finch (Marjorie); sisters, Nadine Thurston (Jim) and Tera Finch; and special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Wayne Stephens.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jean; sons, Gayland Finch (Freida), Lucian Finch (Jeanette) and Ronnie Parsons; daughter, Mary Taylor (Mark); grandchildren, Janet Thompson (Jason), Nathan Finch (Rebecca), Alicia Nelson, Kayla Vaughn, LaTasha Collins (Jacob), Lily Perdue (Casey), Kellie Finch, Kohl Finch, Philip Taylor (Sarah) and Susan Wilson (Michael); 28 great-grandchildren; Brother, Joe Finch (Ginger); Special sister-in-law, Kathy Killman (Ronnie).
Jacob Collins, Kohl Finch, Nathan Finch, Casey Perdue, Danny Stephens, Philip Taylor, Jason Thompson and Michael Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Everett Finch, Roger Hogue, Ronnie Killman, Jesse Meadows, Robert Meadows, Terry Meadows, Cam Murphy, Jay Reagan, Dennis Smith, and Alan West.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Pickett County Care and Rehab for the loving care given to Mr. Finch during his illness.
