Mrs. Geraldine Smalling, 83, of Byrdstown passed away at the Livingston Regional Hospital Friday morning, July 28, 2006. Mrs. Smalling was born November 26, 1922 to the late Gratton and Lorene Pickens Phillips in Clay Co., TN. She was a member of the Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ. She also was a member of the Eastern Star, Pasts National Officer of the National Rural Mail Carriers Association, and served on the Regional library Board. She worked as a Rural Mail carrier for 39 Years, a contributing columnist for the Macon County Times and the Pickett County Press and she worked in the office of the Red Boiling Springs High School for 9 years. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Phillips and Jane Thompson Smalling of Byrdstown, TN. 3 Grandchildren: Danielle, Chelesa, and Hunter Smalling Her Husband precedes Mrs. Smalling in death: Eugene Winston Smalling One sister: Gwendolyn Sadler Burial will be in the Vans Branch Cemetery in Byrdstown, TN.
