Obituary

Frank Reinhart Siegel, a beloved husband, father, and faithful member as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, fell asleep in death on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was 89.

Frank was born in New York City, NY on May 12, 1934 to Harry and Gertrude Siegel.  Shortly after his birth, Harry and Gertrude took their newborn son back to Germany, their homeland.  Frank grew up very quickly upon returning with his parents to Germany.  During World War 2 he was separated from his parents as a very young boy and found himself in a foster home until being reunited with his parents in his late teens.

As a young man, Frank went to trade school in Germany where he studied and graduated as a pastry chef and a tool and die maker. Frank returned to the United States in 1952 where he used these two trades over his lifetime to support himself and his family.  He first used his chef skills at the Sagamore Hotel (as it was then called) in Lake George, NY where his baking skills developed into a wonderful profession.

While living in New York, Frank's life took a decidedly different turn when he began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses.  His love of baking was surpassed by his love for what he was learning from the Bible.  Frank was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 11, 1954.  This began his 69-year walk of faith with his friend and God, Jehovah.

Soon after his baptism, he met Margaret Ann and they were married on August 20th, 1955.  From their marriage they raised four children. Frank and Margaret served Jehovah together and remained married until Margaret's untimely death on August 17, 2000.

After some time had passed, Frank again found happiness with a new partner when he married Doris Nell Baranowski on May 15, 2004.  Frank was thrilled to have the extended family.  Frank and Doris were very active in serving Jehovah together and enjoyed many happy times together until, sadly, Doris' passed away on January 9, 2019.

Frank is survived by 9 children, 18 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.  Frank did his best to teach what he learned about Jehovah to his family and happily all are following the spiritual heritage that he started back in 1954 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  He never stopped baking and will be remembered for his New York style cheesecakes and other pastries that he continued to make and share through his entire life.  He will also be remembered for his hospitality and all the qualities encompassed therein.  Most of all, though, he will be fondly remembered as a servant of Jehovah by all that knew him and regarded him as family.

Frank longed to live to see the remaining Bible prophecies he learned from the Bible fulfilled.  And with his eyes of faith in God's promises he could clearly see the promise at Revelation 21:4 of a New World here on earth, where "death will be no more."  We wait to see Frank again in that New World here on earth…"subsequently".

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2024 at 2pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Livingston, TN.  The talk will be officiated by David Martinez.
