Evelyn Faye
Guthrie
Jan 26, 1955 — Mar 28, 2026
Faye, as she was known to all, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 28, 2026. She was blessed with 71 years. And during those 71 years she touched very many lives. Faye was energetic and always looking for her next exciting adventure. Faye loved serving God and serving people. She truly had a servant's heart. Every opportunity that Faye had she witnessed for Jesus. She would tell you about His love, His goodness, and His grace. If you hadn't experienced the joy of serving the Lord and had not accepted him into your heart as your personal Savior, Faye would encourage you to repent, be baptized "in the name of Jesus", and seek for the Holy Ghost. Faye loved to sing for the Lord. She also dabbled a little bit in playing the piano and accordion. She was a great cook, always making loved ones and friends "tasty meals and treats". Faye was also a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, and auntie.
Faye was preceded in death by her father Casmal Gordon Gunnels and mother Hazel Mable Pryor Gunnels. She was the fifth child out of six children. Her big sisters Doris "Carol" Gunnels Morris, Myrtle Marie Gunnels Dishman, and Eva Jane Gunnels Brown all preceded her in death.
Her surviving siblings include: Tifford "Tip" Lee Gunnels of Rickman, TN and Sandra "Kaye" Gunnels Key (brother-in-law Roger Dale Key) of Cookeville, TN.
Faye has two sons… her oldest son Donnie Ray Allred Jr. gave her four beautiful grandchildren: Jessica Lauren, Donnie Ray (III), Abby, and Emma were all the apples of her eye. Casey Lee Guthrie, her youngest son, along with wife Meaghan, gave her five wonderful grandchildren. Malachi James Guthrie, Maverick Jericho Guthrie, Zoey Kinsley Faye Guthrie, Steven Schafer, and Dylan Schafer were all deeply loved by Faye.
Faye was also blessed with 5 great-grandchildren.
Faye also left behind nieces and nephews for whom she was known as Auntie "Pay-Pay", cousins, and friends.
Faye attended The House of Prayer Revival Center in Rickman, TN. Her pastor, Pastor Mike Owens will be officiating her service. The service is Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Halls Funeral Home. Grave side service will follow at Cash Cemetery in Livingston, TN.
I feel like Faye would want me to end by saying, if you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, repent of your sins, accept Jesus into your heart, get baptized in His Name, the mighty name of Jesus, and seek for the Holy Ghost. You will never regret it… She never has.
