Mr. Eugene V. Smith, age 79 of Rickman, TN, passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Friday, November 27, 2009. Mr. Smith was born on June 11, 1930 in Jackson County, TN to the late Grady and Velah Gentry Smith. He worked in an automotive factory and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended the Zion Hill Methodist Church in Rickman, TN. He is survived by: His wife of 55 yrs: Ruby Smith of Rickman, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-Law: Cynthia and Randy Livingston of Rickman, TN; 3 Sisters: Elise Jenkins of Cookeville and Evelyn Poston and Odessa Boles both of the New Hope Community of Jackson County, TN; 2 Grandsons: Gerald and Morgan Livingston of Rickman, TN; and several nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by: In addition to his parents: 2 Brothers: Doyle and Clifton Smith; and 1 Sister: Betty Roberts.
