Dorothy Mae Bright

Passed away peacefully at Signature Standing Stone Rehabilitation in Monterey, TN at the age of 87.

Family will receive friends at Hall Funeral Home in Livingston, TN on Tuesday, November 7 from 5-7pm.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 11am at Livingston Seventh Day Adventist Church with burial following at Okalona Cemetery.

She was born on May 4, 1936 to John Henry Poston and Madge Lillian Benson in Overton County, TN.  Dorothy resided many years in Dayton, OH where she was employed at Hospice of Dayton.

She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, spending time with her family, and genealogy research.  She was a member of Livingston SDA Fellowship and enjoyed volunteering in which she had a deep fondness for caring for the elderly.

She is survived by her son John Bright, daughter Dana Bright (Michael Gallaher), son Jeff (Amy) Bright, three grandchildren: Bethany (Jonathan) Ham, Benjamin (Amber) Cavanaugh, Christopher Cavanaugh, and five great-grandchildren: Nathan, Cassandra, Genavieve, Leanna, and Josephine.

She is also survived by her brother Fred Poston, niece Patti Poston (Tim Grillot), and nephew Nic (Stephanie) Poston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tim Rapp and former husband Edwin Bright.

Pall bearers are John Bright, Jeff Bright, Michael Gallaher, Tim Grillot, and Nic Poston.

Pastor John Cook will officiate the services.
