Willis Glenn Hinson, 85, of the Union Hill Community, passed away Saturday morning, April 2, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born November 9, 1930, in Union Hill, Tennessee, the son of the late Hade and Inice Spears Hinson. He was married to Carol Joy "Bug" Hestand, and was employed as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He and Mrs. Hinson also owned Hinson's Grocery Store at Union Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Corine Jones and Vassye Smith. He enjoyed his time fellowshipping with the other members of the Union Hill Liar's Bench.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his wife, Carol Joy "Bug" Hinson, of Union Hill; three daughters, Glynis Hinson, of Moss, Linda and husband Stonnie Fraley, of Union Hill, and Eve Hinson, of Cookeville, Tennessee; one son, Larry and wife Jayne Hinson, of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation is at the Hall Funeral Home in Celina, where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, and from 9:00 a.m. until time for services Wednesday. Funeral services for Mr. Hinson will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home in Celina with Bro. Nathan Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery at Union Hill.
At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Union Hill Cemetery Fund, or the Celina United Methodist Church Harvest Fund in memory of Mr. Hinson.
