Obituary

Trudy Weber, resident of Celina, TN passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 with the Super Moon guiding her way home. Born in Oakland, CA to Navy Corpsman, Roy Anderson Davis, and Navy Flight Nurse, Willie Elizabeth 'Libby' (Davis) McCarter on Tuesday, October 07,1947. Trudy came about her stubborn streak early in life. Her childhood was spent in small town Kentucky where she could be found up to mischief most days, including but not limited to tarring her cousin's beautiful blonde hair in an unfortunate incident with a mislabeled tin can of peas. An attendee of Bowling Green High, graduate of Russellville High (Class of '65) and almost-graduate of Western Kentucky University (it was the Trig that got her), Trudy settled into a career at BellSouth in Nashville, TN where she worked for over 20 years until her early retirement. Her post-retirement hobbies included painting, playing Sorry with intense competitiveness, burning grass along her property line to keep neighbors' crab grass at bay, and trout fishing. It was her love of fishing that brought her to Celina in the '00's, where she could often be found at Moody's Landing casting her rod. She spent much time porch sittin' and digging in the flower beds of her cherished little yellow house. She became a busy-body about town organizing monthly birthday gatherings for the Ladies Who Lunch. Though she never quite understood a Mexican restaurant without margaritas, she sure did love the shrimp cocktail. In her last hours, Trudy wanted to let everyone in Celina know that she was grateful for the care and friendship given to her. And if she could tell you one more thing, this writer is sure it would be "Don't Smoke". Trudy was preceded in death by her Parents, friends Jane, Sue, Sandy & Mary Claire, among others. She is survived by daughter Hailey, beloved son-in-law Duncan Ferguson, two grand pets Sweet Georgia Brown & Buster Brown, sister Martha Schaeufele, her cousins Carmen McFadyen, Jack Jameson, Chet Ward and their families. The family will hold a private remembrance.
