DECEASED:

Mr. David Maxey Garrett age 82 of the Freehill Community of Celina, Clay Co., TN departed his life at Livingston Regional Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2022.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:

Mr. David Maxey Garrett was born in Celina, Clay Co., TN on Saturday, August 26, 1939 to the late James Madden Garrett and Willa Dean Maxey Garrett. He attended school in Freehill Tennessee and in 1963 was drafted in the United States Army stationed in Fort Hamilton, New York. He served in the Field Artillery Unit,Rifle Expert during the Vietnam War. David loved telling stories about hunting, travel and just about anything pertaining to life. He also enjoyed cars, motorcycles, guns and cooking. After serving his country and honorably discharged he followed family to Indianapolis, Indiana and worked in various restaurants, Union Station and Jerry Alderman Ford for 17 years before becoming an entrepreneur. David was admired and loved by all that knew him. Nobody was a stranger to him. Many would refer to him as "Get Him", "Gun Man", and Pappaw to his grandchildren.

SURVIVORS:

He is survived by his 4 Daughters: Felicia Hirning and her husband Devin, Kellie Billups and her husband Reggie, Michelle Carey and her husband Henry, Erica Cotton and her husband Sam; 1 Son: David Johnathan Garrett and his wife Alisha; 7 Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and dearest friend Kathleen.

PRECEDED IN DEATH:

In addition to his parents; 1 Son: Victor Toby; 3 Brothers: Robert Donald Garrett, Wilbert Douglas Garrett, Robert (Bones) Page; 1 Sister: Jane Elizabeth Taylor.

Lamar Davis III, Sterling Davis, Robert Gutherie Junior- Bobby, Edward Lewis Hamilton, Cory Edward Hamilton, Danny Williams.

SERVICES/BURIAL:

Funeral services for Mr. David Maxey Garrett will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 12 Noon from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with burial to follow in the Free Hills Cemetery. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 5 ^th starting at 10 AM until the 12 Noon service time. Officiating with the service will be Bro. Bobby Bartlett.
