Ms. Mae (McLerran) Smith, age 92, of Celina, TN passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 30, 2016.

Mae McLerran was born in Clay County, TN on Monday, September 08, 1924 to the late Harlan & Nina (Walker) McLerran. She was married on June 15, 1941 in Clay County to the late Herman Smith, who preceded her in death on August 09, 1986. Mae was also preceded in death by her son: Jimmie Wayne Smith on January 13, 2006, sister: Florence M. Watson, & brothers: Cordell & Claude McLerran. She was a cook for the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center for many years as well as a life long member of the New Hope Church of Christ.

Mae is survived by son: Donald Ray (Martha) Smith of Red Boiling Springs, TN, daughters: Judy Smith & JoAnn Terry of Celina, daughter-in-law: Linda Smith of Celina, brother: Willie McLerran of Celina, and sister: Lola Morris of Celina, 8 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. The family would also like to mention her special caregivers: Jane & Katie Boles.

Funeral Services for Ms. Mae Smith will be conducted on Sunday, October 2nd at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Bro. Jason Dodson officiating and Bro. Jeremy Anderson conducting the singing. The interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation with the Smith family will begin on Saturday, October 1st starting at 1 PM until 9 PM and on Sunday, October 2nd from 8 Am until the service time at 2 PM at the Hall Funeral Home of Celina.

Chase Smith, Shannon Smith, Jerry Smith, Kenneth Hollis, Jerry Key, and Dennis Smith served as pallbearers.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund.
