Mr. James E. Stephens, age 77, of the Pea Ridge Community of Clay County, Tennessee passed way at the Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN on Tuesday, January 05, 2015.

James E. Stephens was born in Clay County, TN on September 19, 1938 to the late Frank Hurbert and Lura Allene (Scott) Stephens. He was also preceded in death by his brother: Joe Hurbert "Joe" Stephens. James was married to Vonda E. Thompson on August 28, 1959. He was a farmer, Speed Queen Dealer, Voted Top Franklin Life Insurance Salesman in the 1960's in Indiana, Chairman of the Clay Soil Conservation District, member of the Clay County Cattlemen's Association, and the Song Leader for the Celina Church of Christ of which he was a member.

James is survived by wife: Vonda T. Stephens of Celina, TN, Son: James A. "Jimmy" Stephens of Nashville, TN, Sister: Jean Nuckols of Fishers, IN, Brother: Jerry Stephens of Manchester, TN, and Granddog: Charlie Stephens of Nashville, TN.

Funeral Services for Mr. James E. Stephens will be conducted on Saturday, January 09, 2016 at 10:30 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Bro(s). Benny Levi and Randy Stephens officiating. The interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery on Pea Ridge. The family will receive friends at Hall Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 07 from 12 Noon until 9 PM, Friday, Jan. 08 from 12 Noon until 9 PM, and on Saturday, Jan. 09 from 8 AM until service time at 10:30 AM.
