Mr. Jack Davis Andrews was born on April 20, 1939 in Celina, Tennessee to the late Ollie Mae Andrews and Ulysses Plumlee who preceded him in death.
Jack professed a hope in Christ and was baptized on April 17, 1988 at Eastside Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee
At a young age, he attended Free Hill Elementary School in Celina and Darwin High School in Cookeville, Tennessee.
He entered the United States Army in 1956 and was honorably discharged on June 5, 1962
On Easter Sunday, April 17, 1960, he married to love of his life Thelma Edith Hamilton in Celina, Tennessee. They were married for 56 years and to this union two children were born.
Jack was employed by TCT Motors until the company moved out of Nashville. He was also employed by and retired from the United States Postal Service.
His favorite joys were Fishing and Golf which were impaired when medical issues prevented them. He also truly loved talking about memories regarding his earlier history and wonderful times with family and friends of Free Hill.
Mr. Jack Davis Andrews departed this life on Monday, January 4, 2016, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by two children Teresa Andrews and David Gist and his mother Ollie Mae Hamilton and father Ulysses Plumlee
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Thelma Edith Andrews; two children, Tanya Andrews and Titus Thomas; one sister Geneva (Bobby) Bartlett; one Daughter-in-law Darlene Gist, eight grandchildren, six great Grandchildren; two aunts Christine Dixon and Rose (Joe) Wallace; a special son Jimmy (Jan) Wilson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Jack Andrews will be held Saturday, January 09, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home in Celina with interment to follow in the Free Hill Cemetery. The visitation on Friday will begin at 2 PM until 9 PM and on Saturday, Jan. 09 with the family at 12 Noon until service time at 2 PM.
