DECEASED:

Mr. Paul Houston White age 94 of Celina, TN went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:

He was born in the Spicewood Springs Community of Overton County on February 1, 1925, to Robert Allen and Rosa Mae (Warden) White. He grew up in Celina and in the Shankey Branch Community and attended Celina Elementary School and Celina High School. He obtained his GED in 1992. Paul married Versie Lola "Bill" Cunningham on April 19, 1943. She passed away July 6, 1988. He married Claudine Roach Crowe on October 21, 1989; she passed away June 21, 2016. At age 17, Paul began work on Dale Hollow Dam as a Core Driller. At age 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II in the 1901 st Engineer Aviation Battalion during the Battle of Okinawa and in occupied Korea. Paul had 71 years of continuous active membership in the American Legion and was an active member of the VFW. He was the Post Commander of both simultaneously. Paul was a farmer, manager of Overstreet Hardware, manager of the Clay County Farmers Coop, and was Clay County Trustee from 1966 to 1974. He ended his working life as a rural mail carrier. Paul was one of the founding members of the Shankey Branch First Church of God where he served as a Sunday School teacher for 60 years and filled every church leadership role, including lay preacher.

SURVIVORS:

Children Harlan Paul (Priscilla) White of Hermitage Springs, Anna Rose (Fred) Warden of Grayson, Georgia, and Thomas Eddie (Irene) of Celina; grandchildren Melissa White, Leslie (John) Langford, Barry (Leah) Warden, Allan (Carol) White, Anthony (Cristin) Warden, Casey (Lori) White, and Heather (Brad) Thompson; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters Pauline Melton of Algood and Reba (Waymon) Moore of Celina; and a sister in-law Mary White of Copan, OK. He is also survived by his extended children Rebecca Watson, Carolyn Fisher, Barbara Long.

PRECEDED IN DEATH:

In addition to his parents and wives; he was preceded in death by son Edward Houston White, sister Anna Ruth White, brothers Raymond Edward White and Floyd Thomas White; and by two of his extended children Patsy Groce and Wendell Key.

SERVICES/BURIAL:

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Houston White will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with burial to follow in the Fitzgerald-Hamilton Addition Cemetery in Celina, Clay Co., TN. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 24 nd starting at 1 PM until 8 PM. Please make donations in Paul's memory to the Shankey Branch First Church of God Building Fund.
