Obituary

Mr. Elbert "Red' Jenkins, age 82, of the Hermitage Springs Community, passed away at Mabry Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Gainesboro, TN on Wednesday, March 09, 2016.

Elbert Roscoe Jenkins was born in Moss, Tennessee on January 05, 1934 to the late Harlin Custer & Roxie Ann (Asberry) Jenkins. He was married to the late Brenda Carol Jenkins, who preceded him in death on August 25, 2012. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters: John B., Charlie, Ted, Fred, Ernest, Buford Clay, & Dencil Leon Jenkins, Mamie Rajio Price, Flossie Pauline Asberry, America Etta Anderson, Ella Mae Wilson, Ova Lee Green, and Arlie Dean Jenkins, two sons: Robert Eugene "Bobby" Jenkins on December 15, 2004 & Tony Jenkins, and 1 grandson: Robert Eugene "Robbie" Jenkins, Jr. on November 06, 1978. Red was the last of his brothers and sisters to pass.

Red is survived by his sons: Doug Jenkins, Eddie Jenkins, & Jack (Vicki) Jenkins all of Cookeville, TN, mother of his children: Peggy Henagin of Cookeville, TN, 5 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson also survives.

The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be determined at a later date.
