Mr. Buford Lee Smith, 88, of Moss, TN.passed away Friday, September 5th, 2008 at Monroe Health and Rehab Center, Tompkinsville, Monroe County, KY. Mr. Smith was born in Clay County, TN on February 23, 1923, the son of the late Allen and Eva (Guffey) Smith. He married the late Opal Alline Moore on December 23, 1943 in Clay Co., TN. where they made their home for 63 years. Mr. Smith was saved by grace thur faith on July 1948 and was baptized in September 1949 where he joined Freedom No. #2 Missionary Baptist Church. He was ordianed Decon from Jan. 29, 1967 until his passing away. He was a member of the Maeshack Missionary Baptist Church at the time of his Death. He worked as a Farmer/Logger. His hobbies in life had been coon hunting, and fishing. Mr. Smith is survived by 5 daughters, Virginia & (Eugene) Barrett of Murfreesboro, TN. Emma & (Jr. B) Strong of Moss, TN. Eva & (Odell) Moore of Moss, TN. Nora & (Jimmy) White of Tompkinsville, KY. Diana & (Steven) Taylor of Glasgow, KY. 4 sons Cornell Smith of Moss, TN., Cotton & (Wanda) Smith of Moss, TN., Kent & (Susie) Smith of Moss, TN., Larry & (Gail) Smith of Celina, TN. He is also survived by 18 Grandchildren: Tammy, Tonya, Angla, Caley, Amy, Kim, Suzette, Shawan, Amanda, David, Sabrina, Anitra, Joshua, Brandi, Eric, Jason, Andy, and Justin 28 Great Grandchildren: Derek, Celina, Brittany, Alisha, Dalton, Devan, Ben, Tanner, Kelsey, Dustee, Gracie, Levi, Gus, Tucker, Joshlyn, Katelyn, James, Lea-Anna Brooklyn, John Victoria, Samuel, Madlyn, Sawyer, Caley Jr., and Jaylyn, Lillie, Grace Alline 8 Step-Grandchildren, 19 Step- Great Grandchildren 4 Step- Great, Great, Grandchildren: Jaysee and Allison, Jacob and Matthew Copeland Mr. Smith is also survived by 4 sisters, Anna May RIch of Moss, TN., Delcia Arnnett of Tompkinsville, KY., Jospehine & (Billy) Smith of Red Boiling Springs, TN.., Dovie Netherton of Missouri. 2 brothers, Johnny Smith of Moss, TN., Bazz Smith of Tompkinsville, KY.
