Obituary

Funeral Services for Mrs. Brenda June Winton, 80, of Livingston will be held at 11am on Monday, July 22, 2024 from the chapel of Halls Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Shipley Cemetery in Cookeville, TN.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7pm and again on Monday from 9am until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Winton died comfortably in her home on the morning of July 19, 2024. She was born in Putnam County, TN on April 1, 1944 to the late Oakley and Ruby Gaw.

Mrs. Winton attended Shiloh Church in Livingston, TN. She worked in retail business in Overton County for many years as a manager of Factory Outlet Shoes, Fashion and Fads, and the Dollar General Store. Later she found her calling as a Real Estate agent helping people find their dream homes. She worked at First Realty Company in Cookeville, TN for 37 years. In her spare time she loved shopping and hanging out with friends. Mrs. Winton was described as having a very generous heart that always enjoyed helping others.

She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Kelly and Phillip Hooks of Cookeville and Rita and Tom Snelling of Fort Wayne, IN; two grandchildren, Brandon Hooks and fiancé Mollie Dowland of Knoxville, and Kristen and husband Jay Lee of Cookeville; three great-grandchildren, Zayden, Josie and Chloe Lee; her sister Jenny and husband Bill Ray.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Neal Winton.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
