DECEASED:  Mr. Billy C. Chilton age 83 of the Fellowship Community of Allons, Overton Co., TN passed from this life on Monday morning, March 4, 2024, at the Livingston Regional Hospital.  He is the son of Berta Chilton (Wright), and James Marshall Chilton.  He was born April 21st, 1940, at his home in Clay County, TN.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:  As a young boy, he attended Pleasant Hill school with his brothers and sisters.  Billy's sense of work ethic was unmatched.  At an early age he began working alongside his father logging, which he did for many years until he began his career in road construction.  He quickly became known as one of the best dozer operators around.  Billy worked for the same company for over 50 years until retirement at the age of 76 from Highways Incorporated.  Billy's dedication to working hard and being a good provider could only be matched by his sincere love and devotion that he showed to his family.  Billy's favorite past-time was sharing Sunday dinners with family and any friends who happened to stop by.  Billy was the perfect example of the true meaning of Christmas, where not only did he provide for his family, but he also gifted to the sick and elderly in the community.  Billy was saved and baptized in 1969 by Brother Frank Shoemake.  He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for more than half a century where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.  Billy looked forward to teaching the Word of God and fellowshipping with his Sunday School class each week.  Even after he became ill, he continued to teach his class weekly in the comforts of his home.

SURVIVORS:  Wife: Danya Kay Chilton; 3 Daughters: Cindy Frazier, Melanie Johnson, Stacey Norrod; 2 brothers: Dennie Chilton, Bobby Chilton; 1 Sister: Diane Ferrell; Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren also survive.

PRECEDED IN DEATH:  His infant daughter Penny Kay Chilton, his mother Berta Chilton (Wright), his father James Marshall Chilton, his brother Ricky Glenn Chilton, and his sister Helen  Delores Smith (Chilton).

PALLBEARERS: Luke Norrod, Casey Chilton, Dustin Chilton, Jacob Collins, Drew Stratton, Kevin Collins.  Honorary Pallbearers: Dennie Chilton and Bobby Chilton.

SERVICES/BURIAL:  Funeral services for Mr. Billy C. Chilton will be held on Thursday, March 07, 2024 at 2 PM from the Fellowship Church in Allons with burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will welcome friends at the Fellowship Church on Wednesday evening, March 6th   starting at 5 PM until 9 PM then on Thursday morning, 7th starting at 10 AM. Officiating with the service will be Bro. Randy Pickens and Bro. Jeff Waters.
