DECEASED:  Mrs. Betty Black Alcorn age 84 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN passed from this life on Monday, June 17, 2024 at her residence.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: Mrs. Betty Black Alcorn was born in Brownsville, Haywood Co., TN on Saturday, January 27, 1940 to the late James Carl Black, Sr and Mary La Jeanne Douglass Black. Betty was a school teacher in Pleasant Valley and in the Hilham Community who was greatly loved by her students. She was a member of the Okalona Church for many years. She and her husband were faithful patrons of the Millard Vaughn Oakley Library in Livingston. Betty will be greatly missed by her siblings and all who knew her. Betty was loved by her family and she loved her family right back.

SURVIVORS: 2 Brothers: James C. "Buddy" Black (Dale) of Brownsville, TN, Milton D. Black (Kathy) of Brownsville, TN; 1 Sister: Melanie B. Abel (Reiders) of O'Fallon, MO; A host of nieces, nephews, who loved her dearly also survive along with her precious friends Clifford and Velena Walker.

PRECEEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents; Her husband of 54 years: John D. Alcorn; 1 Brother: Edd Douglass Black of Memphis, TN.

PALLBEARERS: Milton Black, Claiborn Black, David Black, Cliff Black, Nathan Black, Clifford Walker.

SERVICES/BURIAL: Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Alcorn will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 12 PM from the Hall Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 20th starting at 10 AM till the 12 PM service time.
