Deceased: Mrs. Bettie Catherine Key, age 79 of Cookeville, Putnam Co., TN passed from this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the AHC Bethesda with her family by her side.
PERSONAL INFO: She was born on Thursday, January 18, 1945 in Overton County to the late Thomas and Cordia (Tayes) Peek. Ms. Key attended Faith Chapel Ministries. She will be remembered as a great woman of God, loved Jesus and shared about him with people she was around. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She retired from Red Kap and worked at UCHRA delivering Meals on Wheels. She loved yard sales, flea markets, gardening, flowering and cooking for her family. She loved to sit on the porch and visit with whomever stopped in.
Survivors: 5 Sons: Roger (Kaye) Key, Richard (Kathy) Key, Ricky (Louise) Key, Randell Key all of Cookeville and Troy (Julia) Key of Sparta. She is survived by 6 Grandchildren, Missy Key, Rachel Gregory, Johnny (Libby) Key, Nikki (Thomas) Poole, Willam and Amanda Dickson; 8 Great Grandchildren: 2 Brothers Billy (Louann) Peek, Charles (Sandy) Peek of Sebastain, FL; and 2 Sisters Ruby Hawkins all of Algood and Kathy (Howard) Turner of Cookeville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Cecil Key, 1 grandson Austin Neil Key, 1 Daughter in-law Cindy Stout Key. 5 Brothers, Elmas, Edward, James, Jimmie and Kenneth Peek. 3 Sisters: Rosa Mae West, Lola Jean Owens and Claudean Tinch.
Pallbearers: Bronson Adams, Ty Duchess, Johnny Key, Justin Owens, Zack Randolph, Roger Gaw.
Services / Burial: Funeral services for Mrs. Bettie Catherine Key will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1 PM from the Hall Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Paran Cemetery in the Rickman Community of Overton County. Family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25th starting at 11 AM till
