Miss Anita Gwen Akers, 67 years of age, of Rickman, Tennessee passed away Thursday, May 08, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.  She was born on Friday, January 31, 1958, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Donald Akers and the late Mae Gwendalene Sells.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Akers, and her adopted daughter, Mary Ann Grider that she called her "Little Lady Bug."

Anita is survived by her brother Kenneth (Rebecca) Akers of New Castle, Indiana, her nephew, Trey Akers of New Castle, Indiana, and her niece, Tausha Dunn of New Castle, Indiana.  She is also survived by her very special best friend, Lonnie Whitehead of Sparta, Tennessee.

Anita was well-known for her love of Jese, music (especially Elvis Presley), and her dogs, Angelic and Mary Magdalene.  She could always make friends with anyone.  She always had a kind word for those around her.  Anita was a hard worker, dependable, smart, and funny.  Always ready to help anyone in need.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hall Funeral Home, 2106 Cookeville Highway, Livingston, Tennessee followed by burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery located at 155 Thorn Gap Road, Cookeville, Tennessee.
